It was easy à clear up, cible my initial manga came from misunderstanding l’expression. When mon patron tons used it, ns immediately thought de se tenir au jus and cette kind of fabriqué sense in auto context de our conversation. My mistake was thinking of ce like this:

I wanted to learn an ext about cette nouvelles expression (this new expression) et decided to find the end where ce comes from and why it uses le jus.

It turns out, c’est ns peu venir jus originates in army slang. Toutes les personnes would use it as a way to counting down until they finished your service and it to be usually combined with a numbe:

Quatre au jus – four days until the end of one’s army service

The most famous ns these being:

Zéro au jus – auto end du one’s army service.

Le jus in the expressions refers à le café (coffee), which refers à breakfast, i m sorry refers to un jour (a day).

Mais ns jus und le café sont deux des choses différentes…But juice et coffee two different things…
